Discover the story of Madtwoz Family — over a decade of empowering youth in Sandy Ground, Saint-Martin through creativity and community.
When Madtwoz Family first opened its doors in Sandy Ground in 2012, no one could have imagined what this small initiative would become. What started as a handful of passionate people wanting to make a difference for the youth of our neighborhood has grown into a movement that has touched the lives of more than 500 young people.
A Movement Born in Sandy Ground
Sandy Ground has always been a vibrant, creative, and proud community. But like many neighborhoods, our young people often face challenges — limited opportunities, lack of safe spaces, and barriers to expressing their full potential.
We knew we had to do something. Not just talk about it, but actually build something that would last.
From the very beginning, our mission was clear: create a space where young people can grow, learn, create, and dream — without limits.
More Than an Association, a Family
Today, Madtwoz Family is more than just an association. We are a recording studio echoing with the voices of tomorrow's artists. We are a beach full of laughter where children kayak and snorkel for the first time. We are a workshop covered in paint where teenagers discover they have something to say through art.
We are a community magazine telling the stories no one else tells. We are after-school programs, computer classes, and custom-printed shirts worn proudly across the island.
And above all, we are people. Real people, working every day to make our community stronger.
The Numbers Behind the Mission
Over the last twelve years, we've supported more than 500 young people through our programs. We've hosted dozens of community events, helped countless families, and built a creative ecosystem that simply did not exist before.
But the real impact isn't in the numbers. It's in the kid who recorded his first song last summer. It's in the teenager who picked up a camera and told her story for the first time. It's in the smiles, the friendships, and the futures we help build.
What's Next
We're not stopping here. As we look ahead, we want to expand our programs, reach more young people, and continue investing in the next generation of creators, leaders, and dreamers.
But we cannot do it alone.
Whether you become a member, volunteer your time, or support us with a donation, you become part of the family. Together, we can keep building something extraordinary in Sandy Ground.
