There's a moment in the Print Lab that never gets old — when a young person pulls their first print off the press, sees their own design on a shirt, and realizes: I made this.

That moment is what the Madtwoz Print Lab is all about.

From Sketch to Statement

The Print Lab is our hands-on workshop where the youth of Sandy Ground learn the full craft of apparel design and printing. Shirts, caps, hoodies, tote bags — whatever the canvas, the process is the same: an idea becomes a sketch, a sketch becomes a design, and a design becomes something you can wear.

What We Do in the Lab

Inside the Print Lab, our youth learn:

• Design fundamentals — typography, composition, color, concept

• Digital tools — vector graphics, layout, preparing files for print

• Printing techniques — screen printing, transfer, finishing

• Brand thinking — how a piece of clothing can tell a story or build identity

Every shirt that leaves the lab is a small victory. Every batch printed is proof that creativity and craft can come together — and that the result can be worn with pride.

Why It Matters

For a young person, holding something they designed and made themselves is more than satisfying — it's transformative. It builds confidence. It opens doors. And in some cases, it opens up real possibilities: a future in design, in fashion, in entrepreneurship.
